Computers are very complicated things. Many people who have computers only use its basic functions like gaming, surfing the web, reading and writing files, etc. Most of us are afraid to explore more about computers. That’s why most of us are stuck in the basic functions of it. But if we dig more information about computers, it will help us a lot especially in repairing some errors and tweaking some programs in the computer to run it to its fullest.
Computer has many important parts in order for it to run properly. One of the important parts of a computer is its OS (Operating System). What is an Operating System? An Operating System is a software designed to control the hardware of a specific data-processing system in order to allow users and application programs to make use of it. There are many Operating Systems available for computers and one of that is the famous Windows OS. Windows OS have many versions. I will only include the 3 famous Windows Operating Systems, and they are Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Why am I talking about OS? Many of the tweaks and tricks that you can see below are only applicable by a specific OS, and that is Windows Operating System. I’m using a Windows XP computer when I applied these tricks and tweaks. You can try these computer tricks and tweaks with any Windows OS but try it with your own risk.

How to make an Invisible Windows Account
1. Run Registry Editor (RegEdit.exe). Go to Start > Run > type regedit.
2. Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\
SpecialAccounts\UserList\Special Accounts User List
Note: If SpecialAccounts and UserList is not found, create new sub-key and name them accordingly.
3. Select UserList, and in the right pane, right click on any blank space, and point to New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value.
4. Name the new DWORD registry value name as the exact same name that match the name of the user account to be hidden.
For example, if the user ID of the user account is John, the name the registry value as John.
5. Double click on DWORD registry value, and set the value data to 0 in oder to hide the account from Welcome Screen.
Tip: To display the user account on Welcome Screen again so that it’s visible again, delete the registry entry,
or set the value data to 1.
6. Exit Registry Editor.
7. Log off or restart computer to make the change effective.
Tip: In order to login into Windows using an user account that has made hidden and invisible,
just press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice to bring up Windows Logon dialog, and then type in the user name and password manually.
How to Validate Windows XP
Step 1: Go to Run/RegEdit
Step 2: Go to the key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\

And double click on it. Then change the value data, you can type anything, edit, delete, type.

How to Reformat a Computer and Reinstall Windows XP
1. Insert the Windows XP Installation CD.
2. Turn on or Restart your PC.
3. When the PC starts to boot, keep pressing F2 or DEL to enter BIOS Setup. (This depends between manufacturers)
4. Once inside the BIOS Setup, we need to change the start-up sequence, so that the CD/DVD ROM is in the first boot sequence. Go to the Boot Menu and follow this sequence: CD/DVD ROM, Removable Devices, Hard Drive, Network Boot.
5. Press F10 to save and exit.
6. Your computer will restart, and once you see this message “Press any key to boot from CD” , you know what to do.
7. Wait for a few moments and then press enter to enter Windows XP Setup.
8. Press F8 to agree and then Press “ESC” to continue to Setup.
9. Now select a partition where you want to install Windows XP and then press enter.
10. Choose NTFS File System to Format the disk and press enter.
11. Wait for few moments while setup formats the disk. After formatting, setup will copy files to disk, After that it will restart automatically. When the PC restarted, click “NEXT”.
12. Then enter your Name, then click the “NEXT” button.
13. Now, enter the Product Key and press enter.
14. Change the Computer name if you want and then click the “NEXT” button.
15. Change the time if you want and then click the “NEXT” button.
16. Click the “Typical setting” for the networking setting and then click the “NEXT” button.
17. Change the name of the workgroup if you want and then click the “NEXT” button.
18. Your PC will automatically restart again, when it restarted, click the “NEXT” button at the lower right corner of the screen.
19. Choose “Help Protect my PC by turning on Automatic Updates” and then click the “NEXT” button.
20. Enter the username and then click the “NEXT” button.
21. You’ve just finished reinstalling windows XP, now the next thing to do is to reinstall the driver software of your hardwares.
How to Disable the Change Password Button for One or More Specific Users
he following procedure must be done on the user's computer:
At a command prompt, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
Click the System key if it exists. If the key does not exist, click New on the Edit menu, and then click Key to create a new folder value called New Key #1. Rename the New Key #1 value to System.
Click the System key. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. Rename the New Value #1 entry to DisableChangePassword, press ENTER, and then press ENTER again.
Change the value from 0 to 1.
Quit Registry Editor. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to see that the Change Password button is now unavailable.

How to Change Windows User Account Password w/o Knowing the Current Password
1. Open the command prompt (Start->Run->type cmd->Enter)
2. Now type net user and hit Enter
3. Now the system will show you a list of user accounts on the computer. Say for example you need to reset the password of the account by name John, then do
as follows
4. Type net user John * and hit Enter. Now the system will ask you to enter the new password for the account. That’s it. Now you’ve successfully reset the password for John without knowing his old password.
So in this way you can reset the password of any Windows account at times when you forget it so that you need not re-install your OS for any reason.
Remove Virus from Computer or USB Drive by Command Prompt
First click the “Start” button and go to “Run“. You can also press “Windows+R“. Type “cmd” there.
Type the following commands in the Command Prompt
Type “:” in the command prompt and hit “Enter“. (“Drive_name” is where the problem occurs, it may be any USB drive)
Type “attrib” and hit “Enter“. (This shows the files that are present in the currently working directory. You can also use the command “dir/w/o/a/p“)
If there are any file named autorun.inf then go for next steps else the drive is not affected with any autorun.inf file.
Type “attrib -h -r -s -a *.* ” then hit “Enter“. (This command removes the Hidden, Read Only, System and Archive attributes over any file)
After unhiding and removing attributes you can see the files. So you can delete the file now.
Type “del ” in the Command Prompt and hit “Enter“. (As for example del autorun.inf)
